Google would have not spent billions of dollars aquiring YouTube, and eBay would not have spent billions aquiring Skype. Both are competely different services - though both utilize video and video streaming.

Online Video now plays such a residing role in our lives is already obvious. If you spend reasonalble amounts of hours (at work or home) on the internet, then you've probably already adapted your 'searching' style to include online video. It was expected... Why bother reading 20 pages of text when you can watch someone demonstrate it for you. Right-then-and-there. No getting up from your seat, and no telephone call required! Just by watching an online video clip. No wonder the Television and Media Giants and jumping up and down... We'de rather watch ourselves - then what they want to shove down our throats!

It is only a matter of time before EVERY website user will come to expect online video from every website they visit. The benchmark has been set. A recent marketing analysis report prepared by MarketingSherpa regarding Online Video Marketing revealed that 57% of respondants tested reported definate success attributable to online Video Marketing, while only 5% said a definate 'no it didnt work'. The remaining respondants noted (at a 29%) 'not sure' - as they had no data measurement systems in place, while the remaining 9% said 'sort of'.

In total, more than 95% of respondants expressed some level of satisfaction with their online video marketing efforts.

Plus, in another semi-related study provided by PermissionTV (and publicised through eMarketer) found that 67% of Online Marketers in the US had placed a strong emphasis on Online Video Marketing for their 2009 marketing budgets.
